  • Complaint Details: Information related to the complaint you are filing, including issues, events, and any documents you upload.
  • Authentication Data: We use Firebase Authentication to securely manage user accounts, including login credentials (email and password).

We do not collect any more information than is necessary to support your filing and communication with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and relevant school districts.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the purpose of:

  • Filing complaints to the FLDOE and applicable school districts.
  • Assisting with the preparation, submission, and tracking of your complaint.
  • Communicating with you about the status of your complaint or any updates related to the filing.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

We do not sell or share your personal information with third-party marketers or advertisers. We only share your information under the circumstances described below.

  • Submission of Complaints: We submit the necessary details of your complaint to the FLDOE and the relevant school district on your behalf.

While Friendly Filing is a private business, we are committed to adhering to applicable privacy standards, including those that may be relevant when handling educational records submitted as part of your service request.

We take data security seriously. We use Firebase to securely authenticate users and store data, ensuring that your personal information is encrypted and protected from unauthorized access. We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard your data, both during transmission and while stored.

Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, including compliance with legal obligations. Once your case is closed, we may retain certain information for record-keeping, legal, and compliance purposes.
